Cracks

Dear Readers,

Roads have crevices. Branches have fissures. Skin has wrinkles.

Everything that ages cracks.

We all have had experiences in life that have left lasting impacts and maybe even scars.

Even when you move forward and life goes on, maybe your heart still feels heavy when you think about that time. That experience. That person. That memory.

Whatever that may be.

Branches have splits in their wood, which can be due to various influences, including internal pressure, changes in temperature, and stress from bending.

Similarly, different facets of life may cause us scarring.

In my opinion, cracks in the heart cut the deepest.

Because in order for there to be cracks, it means the heart was once opened, and once open and vulnerable can feel impossible to close off.

However, cracks are not the same as breaks.

You may be cracked, but you are not broken.

The splits in wood is a natural part of the branch’s aging and growth.

Cracks are a natural part of life and can make us stronger.

Don’t mistake your cracks for breaks.

That heart has endless love to give.

Love,

Samantha
